Prince of Wales School Planning Council (SPC)

The purpose of the School Planning Council (SPC) is to establish an annual growth plan for the school.  The SPC consists of the school principal, a teacher representative, a student representative and 3 parent representatives.  Parent representatives are elected annually at the November Parent Advisory Council (PAC) meeting for a term of the following calendar year.

The PW SPC parent representatives for January 1, 2011 to December 31, 2011 are Tina Chau, Julia Stachowiak and May Chow.   Kim Fujisawa is the alternate parent representative.

MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of Prince of Wales Secondary School is to provide a safe, supportive learning
environment within a diverse school community. This community will foster self-esteem,
cooperation, and mutual respect and will allow students and staff to pursue self-discovery and
excellence. The human and physical resources of the school will support the intellectual,
aesthetic, social, physical, and emotional growth of all students so that they may become lifelong
learners and worthwhile contributors to the larger community.

SCHOOL GOAL

To increase student success by better meeting the diverse learning needs of students
including the development of students’ attitudes, knowledge, skills, and active
participation of students in partnership with staff and parents in developing an
inclusive, caring and responsible school community.
